A Multiport Power Electronics Converter for Hybrid Traction Applications

Environmental concerns and energy efficiency have been driving the transportation innovation in past decades. In this framework, hybrid city transport has receiving attention of industry. The challenges for application are required high-power density, lower maintenance cost high-temperature environment due to integration with internal combustion engine. A multiport converter is proposed realise requirements automotive industry achieve greater performance driveline electrification. platform suggests combination previously discrete power electronics modules into one physical package commonising parts such as microcontroller, heatsink busbars. This paper provides an overview design considerations engine start-stop within a series-parallel topology how it achieved using converter. Finally, comparison between approach made compared findings presented, highlighting advantages integrated solution.
